INTEGRATIVE COUNSELLING
This is a flexible counselling approach which recognises that we - and our situations - are all different. It draws on a variety of approaches and helping strategies, according to each individual's or couples' situation, capacity and needs.
Following years of counselling experience and many additional counselling and related courses, I draw on psychodynamic, systemic, brief solution-focussed, Adlerian, transactional analysis and cognitive approaches in my work, as appropriate.
I also use cognitive behavioural therapy skills and strategies in my work. (CBT). This is really useful in helping us recognise the connection between our thoughts, feelings and behaviour, which can then enable us to see and change destructive patterns. This can greatly improve our relationships, health, well-being and quality of life.
